About
About.
I ask questions for a living, and have spent more than 17 years learning how much the answer depends on the question, the context and the person being asked.
I'm an independent research consultant working across qualitative and quantitative research, from study design and fieldwork through to analysis, reporting and insight.
My work has taken me across categories, markets and cultures, often working alongside international research organisations and agencies that need someone who understands both the research and the realities of getting it done.

The Side-Eye
Words, alongside
the numbers.
I write about the things I find interesting: people, culture, work, technology, travel, ambition and the oddities of everyday life. Some start with research. Some start with a question I can't quite let go of. They're not always about research. But they usually begin with paying attention.

Causes
Beyond
the brief.
Research has taught me to pay attention to what sits beneath the obvious answer, the context, the people and the things that don’t always make it into the final report. Some of that curiosity extends beyond work. These are a few of the things I care about, and hope to spend more time building around.

A future sanctuary
For years, I’ve wanted to build a sustainable sanctuary for rescued and abandoned animals, a place where care doesn’t depend entirely on donations and where animals can live safely for the long term.
It’s still a future plan.
My hope is that, as my own work grows, a part of what I build professionally can eventually help fund it.
For now, that begins in much smaller ways: feeding the animals I come across and paying attention to the ones that are easy for everyone else to overlook.
From the streets
Small observations from feeding the stray animals around me. Some are funny. Some are sad. Most are simply reminders that there is a lot of life happening around us that we walk past every day.

Mental health
Mental health deserves the same seriousness and care as physical health, without the stigma that still surrounds it.

Women & opportunity
I’m interested in creating opportunities that allow women to build, lead and work on their own terms, including through the businesses and teams I hope to build myself.

A more sustainable world
Environmental sustainability matters to me because the choices we make collectively eventually become the world we all have to live in.

Child protection
Every child deserves to grow up safe, cared for and protected from abuse, exploitation and neglect.

Refugee & migrant support
People shouldn’t lose their dignity or access to basic opportunities simply because circumstances force them to leave their homes. I support more humane treatment and practical support for displaced people.
